Hi there, sweet pea! It’s time to talk about another high-end dupe from Makeup Revolution that’s so obvious it’s almost painful.I picked up the Iconic Pro 2 palette by Makeup Revolution from Ulta for only $12! This is meant to be an exact dupe for the Lorac Pro 2 palette which will cost you almost four times the price at $44. Now I LOVE my Lorac Pro palette, the colors are beautiful the shadows are so creamy (maybe a little powdery) and pigmented. The shadows in the Makeup Revolution palette aren’t as soft (or powdery) but they are pretty pigmented. I swatched all of the colors from both palettes side by side and I found some differences between the shades but for the most part they’re exact dupes.
As I’m sure you can tell, the darker colors (Lorac: navy, plum, and black) are more pigmented to their drugstore counterparts. Some of the colors aren’t exactly the same tone either, “Navy” is more of a pure navy color while “New Rules” in the Makeup Revolution palette is more of a blue-green than a true navy. This is the same for “Chrome” in the Lorac Pro, which is a bit more purple than “Steal-er” in the Makeup Revolution, which is more brown-grey.
None-the-less, this palette is a great dupe for the Lorac Pro 2 palette. I put it to the test by doing one eye with the Lorac Pro 2 and one eye with the Iconic Pro 2 using Prep’s Makeup Monday post. Can you tell which eye is which without reading the caption?
Basically, unless you feel like you NEED the Lorac Pro 2, the Iconic Pro 2 is enough of a dupe to avoid the heafty price tag.
