Makeup for Bold Lips

Hi there sweet pea! Do you love bold lips but you’re not sure how to rock them? Keep on reading to discover my favorite neutral eye + bold lips spring/ summer combination!Lipstick is easily my favorite makeup product, from nudes to pinks to purples and everything in-between, lipstick is the simplest way to change your look and there is a perfect color for EVERYONE out there.

I had done my foundation, contour, and bronzing. I did my eyebrows before these pictures with my E.L.F eyebrow kit. I prefer bold brows regardless but I especially like them with this makeup because it balances my face with a bold feature on the upper and lower half of my face.

On a regular basis I’ll do neutral eyes and bronze-y skin with my choice of bold lip color, it’s my favorite “running late” makeup look. I usually reach for my “Madeleines And Macaroons” Love in Paris Palette from NYX (fun fact this was my first ever eye palette) for my shadows because they’re super easy to use. I start with the darker terracotta color (1) in my crease as a transition color, then I place the peace color (2) all over my lid to lighten the look. Then to deepen the look I took a little of the cool tone brown (3) and placed it in the outer corner, outer v, and lower lash line.To bring some light into my inner corner I applied the golden shade (4) with a damp brush to make it more intense. (honestly with this look you can totally skip the shadow but I feel weird without it)

I also added a thin line of liner to define my lash line, and then to finish off the look I applied some mascara to the upper and lower lashes. To keep the attention on my lips I chose to use a natural blush, I used Wet n’ Wild’s Rose Champagne (which I’ve done a review on). I didn’t include the product in this post because I plan on doing a dedicated review, but I used a very bronze-y highlighter from the Carli Bybel BH Cosmetics palette.

Now the fun part, lipstick! I chose three different lip color options to show because these are some of my favorite bright and bold lipsticks. Feel free to use your favorite lip color, this makeup is really versatile so it’ll match with ANY lip option.

This first option is probably the most wearable of the three this is NYX’s Matte Lipstick in “Street Cred”, it’s a really pretty bright matte pink-y coral color (great for spring and summer).

While I don’t look the best in bright orange lipstick, I still think it’s a fun color and I rock it anyway. This lipstick is NYX’s High Voltage Lipstick in “Free Spirit”!

For my last option, I’m wearing ColourPop’s “Plastics” (sorry they don’t offer this color anymore), this is a darker purple which makes it a great transition color going into spring. (Prep has done a review on the ColourPop Lippie Stix if you’re curious).

I hope this tutorial showed you that wearing bold lips isn’t as intimidating as it seems!

I know! They do have other purple shades if you’re interested though. I love both of the NYX lip products and couldn’t recommend them enough!
